Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA seeks a Cybersecurity Analyst - Professional to safeguard the university’s information systems and data from cyber threats and vulnerabilities. The role involves monitoring security incidents, performing risk assessments, and implementing security controls to meet regulatory requirements and cybersecurity best practices. This is an onsite opportunity based in Atlanta.
Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor information systems for security incidents and vulnerabilities, and respond quickly to mitigate threats.
- Perform regular risk assessments and security audits to identify weaknesses and propose remediation steps.
- Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and protocols to protect sensitive data and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Deliver cybersecurity training and awareness programs for faculty, staff, and students to foster a security minded culture.
- Analyze security incidents to determine root causes and devise strategies to prevent recurrence.
- Stay informed about emerging threats and trends, updating security measures to address new challenges.
- Prepare and present reports on cybersecurity status, highlighting incidents, vulnerabilities, and remediation progress.
- Act as a liaison with external agencies and partners on cybersecurity initiatives, collaborating to strengthen security capabilities.
- Collaborate with IT teams to deploy security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption tools to safeguard data.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience, with no prior relevant work experience required.
Technologies
- Atlassian Confluence for content documentation and Atlassian Jira for ticketing
- Security technologies including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption tools
- Regulatory and framework references: NIST 800-53/171, CMMC, RMF, MITRE ATT&CK Framework, OWASP Top 10
