Overview

The role is centered on monitoring, analyzing, and improving security across diverse environments while coordinating with IT to uphold compliance. You will manage security alerts, help advance security controls, and contribute to a culture of proactive risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor security alerts and events, validate findings, assess impact, and document results.
  • Support compliance efforts for SOC 2, HIPAA, CMS, and other requirements by gathering evidence, updating controls documentation, and aiding audits and assessments.
  • Own information security tickets and cases from triage to resolution, ensuring clear communication and appropriate escalation.
  • Configure and tune security tools and controls, leveraging Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 security features when applicable.
  • Develop security awareness training and adoption materials.
  • Maintain knowledge repositories by documenting incidents, resolutions, standard procedures, and security best practices.
  • Create and maintain reports and metrics to measure risk posture, control effectiveness, and the impact of security initiatives.
  • Mentor junior staff and share knowledge on tools, processes, and best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience; or certifications such as Security+, AZ-500, SC-200, CEH.
  • 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, systems administration, or a related technical role.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments, identity and access concepts, endpoint security, vulnerability management, and incident response fundamentals.
  • Experience with Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft security tooling such as Defender and Purview; ability to create detections, perform investigations, and support response actions.
