Security Analyst I

Security Analyst I at BEAR Technologies in Plano, TX (onsite) on the security team responsible for monitoring threats, responding to incidents, vulnerability management, and helping harden client environments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor alerts from EDR, SIEM, and email security platforms; triage and escalate as needed
• Detect, respond to, and log security incidents in line with defined incident response playbooks
• Perform vulnerability scans and help track remediation across client environments
• Assist with IAM tasks, including enforcing MFA/SSO and reviewing Entra ID conditional access
• Support security awareness initiatives and run phishing simulation campaigns
• Maintain security documentation, runbooks, and client-facing reports
• Coordinate with NOC, helpdesk, and field services to remediate vulnerabilities and misconfigurations
• Participate in security assessments and audits to help meet client compliance frameworks (SOC 2, HIPAA, CMMC, etc.)
• Assist with onboarding new clients into our security stack and apply baseline hardening
• Track and close security tickets in our PSA/ticketing system

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• Minimum 1 year of relevant security experience
• Solid grounding in cybersecurity principles, including threat/vulnerability management, risk management, incident response, and identity and access management
• Familiarity with common tools and practices such as EDR, SIEM, email security, MFA, and SSO
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team, demonstrating integrity and interpersonal skills
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, self-sufficiency, and solid time management
• Ability to work under pressure during security incidents and manage multiple high-stress situations
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours incidents
