Job Description

Carpenter Technology is seeking an Analyst I - Cybersecurity to support day-to-day security operations onsite in Tanner, AL. In this entry-level role, you will help strengthen identity and access management, assist with cyber-threat monitoring and Security Operations Center (SOC) duties, and contribute to routine security activities including documentation updates and performance metric publishing.

What you’ll do

  • Support Identity and Access Management (IAM) activities as needed, including user account provisioning, password vaulting, periodic access reviews, and encryption key management.
  • Assist with cyber-threat monitoring and SOC responsibilities.
  • Carry out daily security operations, including handling service requests from Business and IT teams.
  • Update standard operating procedures and as-built documentation.
  • Provide security awareness training, such as phishing email simulations, and support security policy consultation, including password requirements.
  • Routinely publish performance metrics related to security operations.

What you’ll need

  • An Associate’s degree in computer science or a related field.
  • 0 - 2 years of related experience in IT, Security, Audit, or other relevant system work.
  • General knowledge of Information Technology.
  • General knowledge of security domains and common security controls.
  • Understanding of basic security concepts such as encryption, separation of duties, and malware.
  • Some familiarity with security best practices and industry standards, such as NIST, ISO, CIS, COBIT, and OWASP.
  • Experience performing research and communicating findings to technical and non-technical audiences, including responding to standard internal and/or external requests.
  • Ability to work within guidelines and direction to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organization and task prioritization skills, with the ability to make appropriate decisions and work under frequently changing priorities.
  • Analytical skills, math skills, and verbal and written communication skills.
