Job Description

Columbia Banking System is seeking a Cybersecurity Manager to lead a team responsible for product security. The role is focused on strengthening security through training and awareness, tracking cybersecurity metrics, and bringing security practices into the product development lifecycle. You will also monitor evolving cybersecurity threats and trends while helping support compliance with applicable banking regulations.

This position is based in Tigard, OR and requires the ability to work fully onsite at the posted location. The salary range for this role is USD 116,647 - 140,000 per year, with occasional travel.

What you will do

  • Oversee a team of cybersecurity professionals focused on securing the organization’s products.
  • Develop and implement employee training and awareness programs covering cybersecurity best practices.
  • Monitor and report on cybersecurity metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of security initiatives and pinpoint improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into the product development lifecycle.
  • Stay current on cybersecurity trends and threats to proactively address potential risks.
  • Demonstrate compliance with applicable bank regulations for assigned job functions and keep up to date on regulation changes.
  • Follow bank policies and procedures, compliance requirements, and complete all required annual or job-specific training.
  • Maintain working knowledge of written policies and procedures related to the Bank Secrecy Act and regulations including Regulation CC and Regulation E, as applicable to the role.
  • Coach, mentor, or train others, including teaching coursework as a subject matter expert when needed.
  • Actively learn, model, and promote the Columbia corporate culture, demonstrating initiative and serving as a positive example.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience (minimum required).
  • Experience in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (preferred: 3-5 years).
  • Information or cybersecurity experience across multiple domains (preferred: 4-7 years).
  • Proven experience in a cybersecurity leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of product security, cybersecurity training, and cybersecurity metrics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Team management and motivational skills.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and their application in cybersecurity.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies.
  • Governance, risk, and compliance experience.
