Job Description

This on-site opportunity in Indianapolis from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service offers a competitive salary and a benefits-forward environment for IT security professionals. As an IT Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC), you will implement and enforce DoD information assurance policies for IT applications, guide Risk Management Framework activities, and prepare certification and accreditation packages via eMASS. You will also serve as the information security expert for assigned systems and manage vulnerability and incident reporting as the central point of contact.

Responsibilities

  • As an Information System Security Manager (ISSM), implement and enforce all DoD IA program policies and procedures for IT applications.
  • Provide guidance on Risk Management Framework decisions and processes.
  • Prepare certification and accreditation packages using the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).
  • Serve as the information security expert for all matters related to assigned systems.
  • Manage the vulnerability and incident reporting process and act as the central point of contact for all assigned systems.
  • Initial duties are developmental in nature when the position is filled below the full performance level.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship or National.
  • Background investigation and suitability for Federal employment.
  • Registration for Selective Service if applicable.
  • This national security position may require access to classified information and requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance; failure to maintain eligibility may result in termination.
  • Under the DoD 8140 policy, completion of Foundational Qualifications in 9 months and Residential Qualification requirements in 12 months is required.
  • Attention to detail, strong customer service, effective oral communication, and solid problem-solving skills.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty to the next lower federal grade, demonstrating the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • GS-12 level: specialized experience includes evaluating and implementing IT security tools, applying IA policies, and monitoring or evaluating systems' IT security compliance.
  • GS-13 level: specialized experience includes providing expertise on evaluating and implementing IT security tools, interpreting or managing IA policies, and monitoring or evaluating systems' compliance with IT security requirements.
