Cybersecurity Implementation Engineer
Job Description
Based on site in Springfield, VA, this role centers on deploying and maintaining on-premises and cloud-based cybersecurity infrastructure, engineering security solutions, and supporting assessments and authorization processes.
Responsibilities
- Build, deploy, configure, and maintain cybersecurity infrastructure and applications across Windows and Linux servers in both on‑premises and cloud environments.
- Design and implement security solutions using cloud services such as EC2, EBS, ELB, S3, and RDS.
- Provision AMIs, conduct software installations, and perform ongoing troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Assist with researching and deploying enterprise‑wide cybersecurity capabilities to support customer business and mission goals.
- Evaluate and recommend changes or technology upgrades to improve performance, standardization, and alignment with industry best practices.
- Provide detailed guidance for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tooling to deliver efficient solutions, including capacity planning for current and future needs.
- Represent customer requirements in technical exchanges with other government agencies.
- Develop and maintain architecture diagrams to reflect system designs.
- Develop and maintain a roadmap for capabilities, operations, and technologies.
- Contribute to the development and execution of test plans and supporting documentation for network configuration changes, securing customer approval before implementation.
- May serve as a team or task lead.
- Coordinate with stakeholders and external assessors to facilitate security assessments and authorization processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (in lieu of degree, 8+ years of related work experience).
- Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a polygraph.
- 6+ years of technical experience in network or cybersecurity engineering, with experience across large-scale enterprise/global networks in a DoD‑focused environment.
- Certifications: DoD 8140.01 and 8570.01‑M IAT Level III and IASAE Level II.
- CSSP Infrastructure Support certification required within 120 days of start date.
- Deep expertise in at least one of the following and working knowledge of others: Network Detection and Response (NDR), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Next‑Generation Firewalls (NGFWs), IDS/IPS, F5 platforms, and email/web security gateways.
- Proficiency with Windows and Linux server operating systems.
- Strong foundation in cloud infrastructure, security principles, compute, storage, and data transport.
- Excellent writing and communication skills, including the ability to develop analytical documents and present to senior or executive management.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- Proven experience modernizing complex enterprise cybersecurity systems.

Pay Range
USD 94,400 to 198,200 per year.
