Job Description

CACl is seeking a Junior Cybersecurity Specialist to support day-to-day defensive cyber efforts at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD on an onsite basis. In this role, you will help monitor Army networks, support defensive cyber operations, and contribute to RMF compliance activities, working closely with senior cybersecurity staff to maintain visibility and report security posture.

The position includes responsibilities across alert monitoring, vulnerability assessment, and documentation support. You will also support compliance-oriented tasks such as access log auditing and maintaining RMF documentation used during accreditation activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor network traffic for unauthorized activity.
  • Analyze alerts to identify potential security incidents.
  • Respond to low level cybersecurity events.
  • Perform vulnerability scans using approved DoD/Army tools.
  • Support patch management and secure baseline updates.
  • Audit system access logs for compliance.
  • Maintain RMF documentation and support accreditation activities.
  • Report compliance posture to senior cybersecurity staff.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship (DoD requirement).
  • Clearance: Active Secret or eligibility for sponsorship.
  • Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or a related field.
  • Experience: 1–3 years in IT or cybersecurity.
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II (for example, Security+ CE, CySA+, etc.).

Pay Range: USD 58,400 - 116,900 per yearly.

Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related fields.

Minimum Experience: 1 years.

Desired: Exposure to tools such as ACAS, HBSS, and Splunk; knowledge of NIST SP 800; and experience administering Windows and Linux systems.
