PNC’s Technology organization is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to strengthen cloud security capabilities across Azure and AWS. This role focuses on technical control ownership, vendor collaboration, recurring assessment and attestation, and delivery of security visibility through dashboards and controls reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with teams that own technical controls enabled by Cortex Cloud, helping partners test and evaluate fit and reduce tool sprawl.
- Build and maintain proactive relationships with partners and internal stakeholders to support adoption and execution.
- Enable partners with appropriate access to lower environments for testing and analysis.
- Own the vendor relationship for Azure, AWS, and Palo Alto, ensuring response and support are sufficient to evaluate new capabilities.
- Champion issue resolution with each vendor by escalating challenges and holding teams accountable for correcting problems and bugs that affect delivery.
- Engage with Enterprise Architecture (EA) and obtain approvals through PNC processes to enable new capabilities that increase cloud security posture.
- Plan and lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR).
- Serve as RCSA Control owner for Cloud Security (TEC083).
- Provide recurring attestation evidence for each Cloud Security Control.
- Review and analyze TEC083 on a recurring basis, identifying gaps, determining whether net-new controls are required, and ensuring controls remain applicable or are reassigned when ownership does not align.
- Coordinate with the Cloud Security team to automate attestation evidence and assess whether evidence currently gathered manually can be automated.
- Develop Cloud Security dashboard UI using Microsoft PowerBI, supporting stakeholders, partners, and the business in viewing Azure and AWS configuration violations.
- Provide statistics on dashboard usage.
- Gather customer input for requirements and maintain a backlog of capabilities for the Cloud Security Roadmap.
- Provide subject matter expertise by applying security concepts to design, build, and maintain technology solutions, including deliverables tied to project timelines.
- Work with architecture to translate high-level designs into implementation details, including sizing, integration details, onboarding, and operationalization.
- Evaluate patches, updates, and ongoing maintenance, determining impacts when new standards are implemented and using change control and governance processes to align solutions.
- Create and deliver detailed implementation, configuration, design, and engineering documentation, and build and implement solutions.
- Partner with operational teams to enable transition and day-to-day supportability.
- Provide engineering support for production environments and collaborate with other groups as needed to expand broader knowledge alongside subject matter expertise.
- Manage risks associated with business objectives in alignment with PNC’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
