Job Description

FEMA's Office of the Chief Information Security Officer (OCISO) seeks a Supervisory IT Specialist (INFOSEC) to lead IT security, risk assessment, and compliance across agency information systems. Based in Washington, DC, this role combines policy development, program leadership, and hands-on oversight of security controls to safeguard critical federal data and operations.

  • Salary: USD 169,279 - 197,200 per year
  • Minimum experience: 1 year of specialized experience

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability, accessibility, and protection against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data.
  • Lead risk analysis, feasibility studies, and trade-off analyses to capture and document functional requirements and specifications.
  • Direct organizational cyber policy, programs, and guidelines to support implementation across the agency.
  • Engage with customers to gather functional requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S. citizen to apply.

  • Current federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Government credit card.
  • Must be able to deploy with little or no advance notice to any location within the United States and its territories for an extended period.
  • Current Federal employees must have 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade or equivalent in the Federal service.
  • One full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal government.

  • CTAP eligibility and well-qualified benchmarks apply; well-qualified generally defined as meeting or exceeding an 80.00 score threshold.
