Join a defense-focused cybersecurity team and contribute to missions tied to the United States Cyber Command. This IT Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC) role is filled through the Cyber Excepted Service within the CES framework, positioned in the Professional Work Category at the Full Performance level, and located on-site at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. The compensation ranges from USD 90,823 to 118,072 per year, with the Targeted Local Market Supplement included in the stated range.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the cybersecurity program for an information system or network, including managing security implications across the organization or program
  • Develop cyber plans, strategies, and policies aligned with the mission to ensure system reliability and accessibility; defend against unauthorized access
  • Facilitate gathering, analysis, and preservation of evidence used in prosecuting computer crimes; assess security events and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure rigorous application of information security and information assurance policies in the delivery of IT services

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service
  • This national security position requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance; failure to maintain eligibility may result in termination
  • Under DoD 8140, complete Foundational Qualifications within 9 months and Residential Qualifications within 12 months
  • This is a drug tested position
  • This is a Mission Essential position
  • May require alternative or shift work
  • Incumbent must undergo and successfully complete periodic Counter-Intelligence Polygraph examinations
