Supervisory IT Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC)

This supervisory IT cybersecurity role focuses on INFOSEC leadership within the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, stationed on-site in Arlington, Virginia. The position is filled under Direct Hire Authority and may include a one-year probationary period. The stated salary range is USD 143,913 to 187,093 per year.

Responsibilities

• Directly oversee information technology projects from inception to delivery.
• Apply expertise in data, information flows, processes, organizational dynamics, and analytical methods, alongside systems and networks, to manage acquisition programs.
• Collaborate with customers to capture functional requirements and translate them into viable technical solutions.
• Advise customers on how information systems can meet business needs.
• Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools.
• Develop and maintain cybersecurity plans, strategy, and policy to support organizational initiatives and regulatory compliance.
• Lead and conduct technical and nontechnical risk and vulnerability assessments across relevant technology focus areas.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Selective Service registration is required for males born after December 31, 1959, or exemption applies.
• Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer is required for salary payments.
• DHS uses E-Verify to confirm eligibility to work in the United States.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance as determined by a background investigation; this may include a credit check, financial review, and checks for criminal history and illegal drug use.
• One-year probationary period may be required.
• Essential personnel designation may apply; duties must be executable during continuity of operations regardless of weather, protests, or funding status.
• This position is designated as a drug testing designated position (TDP); selected applicants must complete drug testing prior to final offer, with a negative result required for final employment, and periodic random testing may follow.
• Education: no educational substitution is permitted; minimum experience is 1 year.
• The type and level of security clearance will be determined by the specific position across divisions within CISA.
