Information Systems Security Engineer focusing on RMF/ATO and DoD cybersecurity for government clients.
Responsibilities
- Ensure security requirements are integrated into system architecture through deliberate security design and configuration.
- Coordinate changes with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and implement all DoD cybersecurity policies and procedures per relevant documentation.
- Document, monitor, update, and manage systems to maintain an acceptable security posture and achieve Interim Authority to Operate (IATO) and Authority to Operate (ATO).
- Support DoD and military clients in delivering advanced cybersecurity solutions, including RMF implementation and policy analysis.
- Assist in solving complex problems involving hybrid systems from a cybersecurity perspective.
- Operate with minimal supervision within established procedures and practices.
- Grow as a team through mentoring, hands-on problem solving, and opportunities to learn new tools to deliver optimal client solutions.
- Contribute to securing AI and ML networks critical to client missions.
Requirements
- 3+ years guiding a client through the complete RMF and ATO lifecycle.
- Experience as an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE), Information System Security Officer (ISSO), or in IT, Cybersecurity, or IT Service Management roles.
- Experience performing enterprise vulnerability scanning with ACAS, leading risk remediation, conducting security control assessments, and aligning with DoD directives and STIGs.
- Experience attaining system certification, accreditation, assessment, and authorization, including IATT and ATOs.
- Experience engineering and hardening robust security solutions such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and SIEM to defend against emerging threats.
- Knowledge of the systems and software engineering management process as applied to DoD acquisition across all life cycle phases.
- Knowledge of DoD communication, cybersecurity, and IT systems.
- TS/SCI clearance.
- Education: Associate's degree with 7+ years of cybersecurity experience, or Bachelor's degree with 3+ years, or 9+ years of cybersecurity experience in lieu of a degree.
- DoD 8140 IAT Level II Certification.

Compensation
