Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Maintain contact with higher authority on program policy and coordinate with federal or civil organizations as needed to clarify policy or guidance.
  • Oversee all classified COMSEC material and cryptographic key in support of organizational missions and perform related duties.
  • Provide guidance and subject-matter expertise on COMSEC matters and recommend actions to improve operational effectiveness.
  • Review planning data, evaluate COMSEC service requirements, emergency and contingency plans, and SOPs; recommend facilities and equipment needs.
  • Plan and implement COMSEC and controlled cryptographic items oversight for mission requirements within the area of responsibility.
  • Distribute cryptographic keying material (KEYMAT) and CCI equipment to COMSEC LEs to support joint local and area-of-responsibility missions and other Government agencies.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience including security measures for COMSEC, KMI, and/or PKI; assisting with administration, maintenance, and oversight of COMSEC accounts; and providing guidance or leadership to subordinates.
  • IT-related experience demonstrating attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
  • Top Secret security clearance with SCI access as a condition of employment.
  • Urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter; designation as a Drug Testing Position (TDP) under AR 600-85 with pre-appointment testing if not currently in a TDP position.
  • Must obtain and maintain requirements for certain cyber work roles (foundational within 9 months, resident within 12 months, and 20 CPD hours per role).
  • Direct Deposit of pay is required.
  • Temporary Duty travel up to 15 percent or less of the time.
  • Two year trial or probationary period may be required.
  • Advance in hire may be authorized; recruitment or relocation incentives may be authorized.
  • This is a 35 Career Program position.
