Job Description

Join the US Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency as an Information Technology Specialist (InfoSec) supporting cleared contractor sites in Melbourne, FL (onsite). This role serves as an Information Systems Security Professional (ISSP), helping drive cybersecurity and information assurance work that supports RMF-based assessments and authorizations. The position offers a government career with a comprehensive benefits package, with eligibility depending on the type of appointment and that the role is full-time. Salary range: USD 106,437 - 156,715 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an ISSP within the assigned region.
  • Perform cybersecurity activities, including security control assessments supporting IT system assess and authorize activities using the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Provide security oversight of cleared contractor information systems under the National Industrial Security Program (NISP).
  • Analyze, assess, evaluate, verify, and validate cleared contractor information system security plans and controls, and provide authorization risk recommendations to the Authorizing Official.
  • Develop and maintain security documentation and artifacts for assigned information systems.
  • Interface with industry security professionals to assess implemented security controls.
  • Enforce IT security control requirements, recommend configurations for information systems and networks, and identify strategies to manage risk by mitigating IT vulnerabilities in response to an evolving cybersecurity threat environment.
  • Act as a spokesperson at conferences and training meetings to communicate NISP and RMF implementation guidance and related cybersecurity information for industrial security.

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Selective Service: Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered with Selective Service (see http://www.sss.gov).
  • This is a Drug Testing designated position.
  • Position is a DCIPS position in the Excepted Service under U.S.C. 1601.
  • Full-time work schedule; occasional overtime.
  • Tour of duty: Flexible.
  • PCS: Not authorized.
  • FLSA: Exempt.
  • Telework: Supervisors may approve situational telework on a case-by-case, temporary basis for limited situations.
  • If selected, incumbent must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance as indicated in the job announcement.
  • Certification requirement: must be certified within six months of appointment date (if not already certified) per DoD 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level III and Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II.
  • Must possess legal and personal qualifications to operate a passenger-type motor vehicle.
  • May be subject to random counterintelligence-scope polygraph examinations.
  • Education substitution is not permitted in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.

You will be evaluated based on how well you meet the qualifications listed for the position. The process includes a screen out questionnaire, an EXCEPTED SERVICE PILOT REVIEW after the application process, and completion of all required steps including an online assessment.
