Sr. Specialist Cybersecurity

Magna International’s Group Cybersecurity team within Magna Powertrain (MPT) is seeking a Sr. Specialist Cybersecurity to help lead, enforce, and monitor group-wide security policies. In this hybrid role based in Troy, MI, you will support operational cybersecurity across IT, OT, and Product Cybersecurity domains, helping ensure security requirements and protocols are consistently implemented across locations.

What You’ll Do

• Act as a cybersecurity leader for MPT by monitoring key security and compliance performance indicators (KPIs), analyzing results, and driving corrective actions to close gaps and strengthen the organization’s security posture.
• Provide expert guidance to business units on security operations and processes for both IT and OT.
• Support remediation of IT audit findings by collaborating with stakeholders, monitoring corrective actions, and ensuring timely closure of audit issues.
• Assess risks for assets and services, defining mitigation options along with associated timelines.
• Conduct AI risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential threats tied to artificial intelligence systems and technologies, ensuring alignment with organizational standards.
• Perform group risk monitoring and assist divisions in maintaining divisional risk registers with accurate documentation and timely updates.
• Coordinate OT security efforts by applying controls to protect critical assets, and advise on creating, updating, testing, and training disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Support and continuously improve the Information Security Management System (ISMS) to help ensure effective protection of organizational assets and compliance with relevant standards.
• Design and consolidate standardized security processes and related procedures to be implemented across MPT Divisions.
• Create security awareness campaigns in partnership with Corporate Information Security, including training delivery.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Security, Information Systems, or equivalent proof of baseline knowledge.
• 8+ years of IT and security experience.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of frameworks and regulations such as ISO 27001/2, TISAX, NIST 800-53, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, GDPR, SOX, ITIL, COBIT, COSO, or similar.
• Accredited certifications are a plus, including: CISA, CISSP, OSCP, CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker).
• Previous SOC / NOC experience is a plus.
