Job Description

This onsite role offers a stable full-time opportunity to support a Department of the Navy client on personnel security and suitability operations. The position focuses on compliance reviews, background investigations support, case tracking, and preliminary adjudicative analysis, contributing to timely civilian onboarding and mission readiness under Trusted Workforce 2.0. Salary ranges from USD 95,000 to 105,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Perform compliance reviews, technical assessments, and corrective action validation within personnel security and suitability programs.
  • Conduct preliminary suitability and security reviews, including interim determinations per federal vetting standards and SECNAV 5510.30C.
  • Manage and track personnel security and suitability investigation cases using NSCMS and other case-tracking tools.
  • Review background investigations, identify issues, and support case development for adjudication.
  • Enter, update, and maintain case data in NSCMS and internal tracking systems to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Verify applicant information and prior clearance history using USAS, DISS, eQIP, and NP2 e-APP.
  • Maintain Suitability Assessment Checklists and ensure cases are prepared for adjudicator review.
  • Support backlog reduction by researching and processing pending security and suitability cases.
  • Provide data tracking, reporting metrics, and database updates to meet client requirements.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely processing of investigations and onboarding activities.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting personnel security, suitability, and fitness determinations within DoD, DoN, or another federal agency.
  • Strong understanding of Trusted Workforce 2.0 initiatives and federal vetting standards.
  • Experience conducting compliance reviews and preliminary adjudicative analysis.
  • Familiarity with NSCMS, USAS, DISS, eQIP, and NP2 e-APP.
  • Experience managing investigative reports, case tracking systems, and data reporting.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and detail-oriented skills with the ability to manage multiple cases concurrently.
  • OPM Fundamentals of Suitability for Suitability and Fitness Adjudicators training completed is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • CompTIA Security+ certification preferred.
