Cybersecurity Engineer III
Job Description
Cobb EMC is hiring a Cybersecurity Engineer III to help protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of its corporate enterprise network. This hybrid role in Marietta, GA focuses on implementing and supporting security technologies, maintaining security standards, and strengthening systems through Security Operations and incident response participation.
You will contribute to a security organization built on core values including Put People First, Stay Safe, Innovate, and Own It. The position also includes hands-on work across network security hardware and software, compliance monitoring, and planning for network projects.
Compensation: USD 53 per hour. Experience: 8+ years. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology Security or another highly technical field.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and support high-quality enterprise security systems.
- Coordinate installation and maintenance of network security software and hardware with peer teams.
- Diagnose network security, software, and hardware issues, then implement solutions and enhancements.
- Help develop, implement, and maintain a Security Operations Center.
- Work with service vendors to ensure equipment and software are properly serviced.
- Oversee maintenance and inventory of network security systems.
- Assist management with budgeting and purchasing of security hardware and software.
- Research future security technology, software, and service needs.
- Contribute to annual budgeting and monthly budget variance processes.
- Monitor activities for compliance with Cobb EMC cybersecurity policies.
- Coordinate planning, design, and execution of network projects.
- Assist with security assessments and audits.
- Provide hands-on technical training to peer teams.
- Actively participate on the Security Operations Team and the Security Education, Training, and Awareness Team.
- Serve as an active member of the Cyber Security Incident Response Team.
- Recommend relevant off-site technical training opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology Security or other highly technical field.
- Eight plus years of experience in Information Technology with six years of experience in Network Infrastructure and Security.
- Proficiency in installation and maintenance of Firewall’s, Remote Access systems, and Network Access Control systems.
- Experience with Network Security Monitoring systems, Network Authentication systems, and Network security assessments.
- Linux administration and Microsoft domain services.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity programs, data loss prevention, and vulnerability management programs.
- Knowledge of hacking techniques, virtual environments, and scripting languages.
- Knowledge of project management concepts.
- Demonstrated public speaking and presentation skills.
- Ability to demonstrate creativity and out-of-box thinking in analyzing and delivering solutions.
- Self-starter who can work without close supervision and think independently.
- Excellent organizational, verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to appropriately handle confidential information.
- Ability to work off hours/shifts as needed/required.

Preferred
