Job Description

Paragon Cyber Solutions is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer (II) to support a critical defense program. This onsite role in Crane, IN focuses on implementing, monitoring, and improving enterprise cybersecurity controls while supporting security operations, threat detection, vulnerability management, and compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls across enterprise environments.
  • Support SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and firewall technologies.
  • Participate in vulnerability management and remediation initiatives.
  • Perform security monitoring and analysis, and support incident response activities.
  • Assist with threat modeling and risk assessments.
  • Maintain secure system configurations and security baselines.
  • Support compliance efforts aligned with NIST, CIS, and organizational policies.
  • Investigate security alerts and assist with threat hunting.
  • Participate in security tool deployment and optimization projects.
  • Create technical documentation and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 to 4 years of cybersecurity engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting security operations and implementing security controls.
  • Experience supporting the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD information systems.
  • Experience developing or updating RMF and security authorization documentation, including SSP, RAR, SAP, SAR, POA&M, IRP, CP, SOPs, and CMPs.
  • Working knowledge of FISMA, FIPS, NIST, DoDI 8510.01, DoDI 8500.01, and related cybersecurity guidance.
  • Familiarity with SIEM platforms.
  • Familiarity with IDS/IPS technologies.
  • Familiarity with EDR solutions.
  • Familiarity with firewall platforms.
  • Understanding of threat modeling, vulnerability management, and secure configuration baselines.
  • Knowledge of NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls, and security compliance frameworks.
  • Security certifications such as Security+, CISSP, or similar industry-recognized certifications.
