Cybersecurity Analyst
Job Description
GadellNet is hiring a Cybersecurity Analyst to strengthen incident visibility, support information security operations, and protect company data. This onsite role in St. Louis, MO follows a steady Monday to Friday schedule (11am to 8pm CST), with a focus on investigating threats, responding to alerts, and improving security processes through documented procedures and knowledge-sharing.
Responsibilities
- Investigate cybersecurity incidents, including business email compromises (BECs) and infections.
- Perform a daily review of cybersecurity escalations and reported phishing emails.
- Assess MDR alerts and EDR/AV alerts daily, then complete action items that result from the review.
- Participate in Incident Response protocols.
- Configure and analyze vulnerability assessments.
- Make changes to firewalls and switches as part of network security updates.
- Develop knowledge-based articles and standard operating procedures.
- Stay current on cybersecurity trends, technology, and standards.
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a cybersecurity-related position.
- Associate-level experience with Security Awareness Training tools, including KnowBe4 (preferred).
- Associate-level experience with Network Vulnerability Assessments.
- Associate-level experience with AV/EDR, including SentinelOne (preferred).
- Associate-level experience with SIEM/MDR, including Blackpoint MDR (preferred).
- Associate-level experience with ZTNA/SASE, including Timus (preferred).
- Beginner to intermediate troubleshooting knowledge of Windows OS and MacOS.
- Beginner knowledge of troubleshooting Windows Server, particularly Windows Server 2019 and newer.
- Beginner to intermediate knowledge of networking concepts and administration, including networking equipment management principles, subnets, DNS, DHCP, firewall concepts, network security, VPN technologies, and routing and switching.
- At least 1 year experience identifying risks, corresponding controls, gaps, and applicable testing strategies.
- At least 1 year experience creating and implementing security controls.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to present technical ideas in a user-friendly, business-friendly way.
- Astute analytical skills and demonstrable experience in technical documentation.
