Job Description

IDR, Inc. is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to strengthen and evolve security capabilities across AWS and Azure. This hybrid role partners with infrastructure and security teams to advance secure cloud architecture, identity and access management, monitoring and alerting, and security maturity through guidance and training.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain secure cloud architecture across AWS and/or Azure environments.
Secure cloud-native applications, infrastructure, data, and identity services while aligning to enterprise security standards.
Implement and manage IAM controls, including least-privilege access, RBAC/ABAC, and MFA, with integration to enterprise identity providers.
Build and enhance monitoring and alerting capabilities, supporting incident response using cloud-native tooling and SIEM integrations.
Collaborate with internal teams to communicate changes, provide guidance, and help train and mentor as security maturity grows.

Requirements

5+ years of hands-on cloud security experience securing AWS and/or Microsoft Azure environments.
Demonstrated experience designing and implementing cloud security architecture, not limited to supporting existing builds.
Strong IAM expertise, including experience with AWS IAM/Organizations/Identity Center and/or Microsoft Entra ID, such as Conditional Access and PIM, with a focus on least-privilege access controls.
Experience implementing cloud security services for logging, monitoring, and threat detection, such as Security Hub/GuardDuty/Config/Inspector or Defender for Cloud/Sentinel, plus integrating results with SIEM tools.
Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration, training, and mentoring; knowledge of cloud infrastructure, security, and networking is a plus.
