Meta’s Privacy Engineering team is looking for an Application Security Engineer, Privacy to identify and remediate privacy vulnerabilities across products and infrastructure. The role supports incident triage, drives engineering remediations, and applies learning from incidents to strengthen privacy protections. It also involves building AI agents to discover, prevent, and remediate privacy issues.
Responsibilities
- Conduct incident triage and fact identification by coordinating the right stakeholders to understand what occurred and assess impact.
- Use the facts uncovered during triage to mitigate and remediate privacy vulnerabilities.
- Review incident details to identify, document, and remediate the root cause and contributing factors.
- Apply technical expertise to ensure lessons learned are incorporated so the same issues do not recur.
- Build AI agents and agent pipelines to support discovery, prevention, and remediation of vulnerabilities and privacy issues across Meta products.
Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science (or a related field), or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of work experience in technical privacy or security engineering domains, including incident response, application privacy/security, and/or offensive security.
- 5+ years of coding experience in Python, PHP, Java, C/C++ (or equivalent languages), including code maintenance and review.
- Experience identifying, analyzing, and remediating real-world privacy and security threats.

Compensation
USD 154,000 - 217,000 per year + bonus + equity + benefits.
Compensation details in this posting reflect base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include additional compensation components. Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of work experience in technical privacy or security engineering domains, including incident response, application privacy/security, and/or offensive security.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize or redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (for example, efficiency gains or quality improvements).
- Technical contributions to the privacy or security community, such as public research, blogging, or presentations.
- Experience in a corporate environment communicating technical issues and their implications to other business areas.
- Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices, including risk assessment, bias mitigation, and quality and accuracy reviews.
- Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development, such as prompt/context engineering and agent orchestration, and staying current with emerging AI technologies.
- Technical experience across other Privacy or Security disciplines, such as Application Security or Privacy.
