As a Cybersecurity Engineer on the Advana program, you will help protect DoD operations by shaping security architecture, proactive monitoring, and incident response across multiple clearance domains. This on-site role at General Dynamics Information Technology is based in Falls Church, VA, supporting national security through RMF compliance and cross-domain safeguards for mission-critical environments.
Responsibilities
- Designs and enforces cybersecurity architectures, defensive monitoring, and enclave protections to support Advana operations across Unclassified, Secret, and Top Secret domains, enabling mission execution for Combatant Commands, Joint Staff, and senior decision-makers.
- Deploys and configures NIST SP 800-53 controls, identity and access management services, continuous monitoring sensors, Zero Trust measures, and cross-domain cybersecurity components in line with DoD directives and CDAO governance.
- Performs recurring vulnerability assessments, follow-up on penetration tests, and automated scanning using Nessus, ACAS, Splunk Enterprise Security, Elastic Security, and cloud-native threat-detection tools to identify and remediate weaknesses across Advana cloud, data, and applications.
- Supports incident response by analyzing logs, correlating events, triaging actions, and conducting threat hunting in multi-classification environments, delivering technical findings, mitigations, and post-incident reports for leadership.
- Creates and maintains cybersecurity documentation, Body-of-Evidence artifacts, system security plans, SOPs, and RMF updates required for Authorizing Official review.
- Collaborates with DevSecOps, infrastructure, and platform engineering teams to embed secure coding practices, encryption configurations, automated guardrails, and enclave boundary protections.
- Enhances operational resilience by tracking emerging threats, validating countermeasures, and offering technical recommendations that advance Advana cybersecurity maturity and mission readiness.

- Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree
- Experience: 3+ years of related experience
- Certification: IAT III (CompTIA CASP+ CE, ISC² CISSP or Associate, GIAC GCED, GIAC GCIH, or Cisco CCNP Security)

Salary and Benefits Information
The likely salary range for this position is $147,292 - $199,278. This is not a guarantee of compensation; pay is determined by experience, location, and contractual requirements and may fall outside this range.
