Job Description

The Head of Cybersecurity, Risk & Compliance at CarParts.com focuses on aligning hands-on security execution with risk governance, ensuring the organization maintains a board-visible security posture, PCI and SOX compliance, and audit readiness. This position reports directly to the CTO and is based onsite in Long Beach, CA.

Key Responsibilities

Own security engineering activities, including security controls, system hardening, and security tooling.
Lead threat detection and response efforts, covering monitoring, triage, and incident response processes.
Drive governance, risk, and compliance through the development and maintenance of policies, evidence collection, and control mapping.
Own PCI and SOX control responsibilities, including control ownership, testing, and remediation activities.
Manage vendor and third-party risk reviews, including contract-related risk considerations and remediation follow-through.
Provide board-ready audit committee reporting on security posture, risks, and documented exceptions.

Required Qualifications

8+ years of cybersecurity and/or GRC experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
Direct experience working within PCI-DSS and SOX control environments.
Experience presenting findings and updates to audit committees or boards.
Demonstrated track record building or scaling a GRC function.

Preferred Qualifications

CISSP, CISM, or an equivalent certification.
Experience in eCommerce or retail security.
Familiarity with NIST frameworks and SIEM tooling (for example, Splunk or Elastic).

Job Description

This contract role supports the build-out of agent-driven triage and response automation within a security operations environment under Senior Cybersecurity Engineers.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Computer Aid, Inc. is hiring a Junior Cybersecurity Engineer to support an onsite, agent-driven build-out focused on triage and response automation. In this position, you will own investigation work from escalated alerts through confirmed incidents, partnering with engineering teams to improve detection quality and support reliable incident response workflows. Responsibilities

Own escalated alerts and confirmed incidents that clear front-line triage, including investigating, scoping impact, and driving cases to resolution
Act as the escalation point for L1 triage analysts, including phishing intake, providing guidance, and performing quality control
Investigate across the full appliance stack Eng maintains, correlating evidence across EDR, SIEM, firewall, email security, and identity/access systems rather than treating signals in isolation
Participate in coverage that spans business hours
Provide real investigation findings back to Detection Engineering so tuning reflects what is happening in practice, not only theoretical use cases
Work with the Cybersecurity Engineer team to validate and refine agent-assisted alert triage
Document findings clearly enough to support incident response, audit, and handoff to after-hours teams
Partner with the SOC Lead to create documented alert triage workflows

Requirements

2-4 years hands-on experience triaging, investigating, and escalating security alerts in a SOC or equivalent operations environment
Working fluency across core security tooling, including EDR, SIEM/log analysis, network/firewall traffic, email security, and identity systems
Working knowledge of CrowdStrike, Darktrace and/or Splunk
Sound judgment on when to investigate independently versus looping in Detection Engineering, Engineering, or the automation team
Willingness to work alongside AI-assisted triage tooling and provide specific feedback to the teams building it
Clear written communication, including documentation that other teams and auditors can read
