Cybersecurity Analyst

Computer Aid, Inc. offers an onsite full-time 12-month+ contract opportunity for a Security Operations role in Long Beach, CA. In this position, you will own investigation work from escalated alerts through confirmed incidents, partnering with engineering teams to improve detection quality and support reliable incident response workflows. The pay range is $80–$100 per hour, and the role includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k retirement account access, plus paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Responsibilities

• Own escalated alerts and confirmed incidents that clear front-line triage, including investigating, scoping impact, and driving cases to resolution
• Act as the escalation point for L1 triage analysts, including phishing intake, providing guidance, and performing quality control
• Investigate across the full appliance stack Eng maintains, correlating evidence across EDR, SIEM, firewall, email security, and identity/access systems rather than treating signals in isolation
• Participate in coverage that spans business hours
• Provide real investigation findings back to Detection Engineering so tuning reflects what is happening in practice, not only theoretical use cases
• Work with the Cybersecurity Engineer team to validate and refine agent-assisted alert triage
• Document findings clearly enough to support incident response, audit, and handoff to after-hours teams
• Partner with the SOC Lead to create documented alert triage workflows

Requirements

• 2-4 years hands-on experience triaging, investigating, and escalating security alerts in a SOC or equivalent operations environment
• Working fluency across core security tooling, including EDR, SIEM/log analysis, network/firewall traffic, email security, and identity systems
• Working knowledge of CrowdStrike, Darktrace and/or Splunk
• Sound judgment on when to investigate independently versus looping in Detection Engineering, Engineering, or the automation team
• Willingness to work alongside AI-assisted triage tooling and provide specific feedback to the teams building it
• Clear written communication, including documentation that other teams and auditors can read
