Job Description

Booz Allen Hamilton seeks an Undersea Systems Security Engineer to support cybersecurity and systems security analysis for U.S. Navy afloat and undersea platforms. The role encompasses designing, evaluating, and implementing cybersecurity solutions across the system lifecycle to strengthen the resilience of critical naval systems. This onsite opportunity is based in Manassas, Virginia.

Responsibilities

  • Design, evaluate, and implement security controls across the system lifecycle, including integration, testing, operations, and sustainment.
  • Assess system vulnerabilities, conduct security assessments, and support risk mitigation planning in line with DoD and Navy requirements.
  • Apply cybersecurity engineering principles, network security concepts, and familiarity with TCP, IP, DHCP, DNS, and network design processes.
  • Support systems security testing and evaluation, review design artifacts, and identify security gaps.
  • Provide cybersecurity recommendations based on threats, vulnerabilities, and emerging risks.
  • Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to achieve secure configurations and resilient architectures.
  • Contribute to documentation, briefs, and technical reports that support system accreditation and cyber readiness.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in systems security engineering, cybersecurity, software engineering, or network security
  • 3+ years of experience in Navy acquisition or in-service programs
  • Knowledge of information security systems engineering principles, cybersecurity fundamentals, and DoD mission needs
  • Familiarity with networking concepts such as LAN, WAN, bandwidth management, network protocols, and directory services
  • Ability to assess security system designs and support systems engineering processes
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a technical field
  • DoD IAT Level II Certification

Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. A Secret clearance is required.

Work Model

  • Remote: If this position is listed as remote, there may still be occasions when you are required to work in person at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
  • Hybrid: If this position is listed as hybrid, you will be expected to work from a Booz Allen facility frequently, in alignment with leadership expectations and the needs of the role. You may also be required to work from or visit a customer facility.
  • Onsite: If this position is listed as onsite, work will primarily be performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, where employees will collaborate directly with colleagues and customers as required by the role.

Compensation

The projected compensation range for this position is USD 69,300 to 158,000 per year. Salary is determined by location, the individual's education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, and contract-specific requirements. This posting will close within 90 days from the posting date.
