Job Description

Abacus Technology is hiring a System Cyber Security Engineer for a full-time onsite role at Hanscom AFB, MA. In this position, you will provide security support for the C3I&N Directorate, helping ensure that system and application deliverables align with Department of Defense and Air Force cybersecurity expectations.

The work includes supporting policy compliance, certification and accreditation alignment, and PKI enablement in support of standardized, PKI-supported capabilities. This role is anchored in DoD and Air Force frameworks and requirements, including specific DoDI and AFI guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure system and application deliverables meet DoD and Air Force cybersecurity policy requirements.
  • Confirm system deliverables comply with DoD and Air Force cybersecurity policy, specifically DoDI 8500.01 (Cybersecurity) and AFI 17-130 (Air Force Cybersecurity Program Management).
  • Support compliance with DoD and Air Force certification and accreditation policies, including DoDI 8510.01 (Risk Management Framework for DoD Systems) and AFI 17-101 (Risk Management Framework for Air Force Information Technology).
  • Support activities and meet requirements of DoDI 8520.02 (Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Public Key (PK) Enabling) to enable standardized PKI-supported capabilities for biometrics, digital signatures, encryption, identification, and authentication.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in cyber security or information assurance, including at least 3 years in a DoD environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; additional years of experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
  • Experience with certification and accreditation (C&A), assessment and authorization (A&A), and RMF.
  • Significant experience in vulnerability scanning and analysis, including use of automated tools and vulnerability management systems.
  • Knowledge of intrusion prevention and network access control tools and systems.
  • Must have experience with acquisition and sustainment.
  • Understanding of system audit principles and security risk assessment.
  • Solid understanding of network infrastructure and mission assurance.
  • Familiarity with Federal government and DoD standards for IA/security, including DIACAP, FISMA, NIST, and OMB.
  • Strong communications skills and the ability to work with all levels of an organization.
  • US Citizen and must hold a current Secret clearance.

Compensation and Location

  • Location: Hanscom AFB, MA (onsite)
  • Salary: USD 150,600 - 165,400 per year
