Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE)

Abacus Technology is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to provide cyber and information assurance support for the C3I&N Directorate at Hanscom AFB, MA. The position emphasizes coordination of Assessment and Authorization activities, participation in IA architecture efforts, and ensuring that IA security protections and requirements are addressed throughout system development and assessment work.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead coordination of Assessment and Authorization (A&A) documentation.
• Support design, development, implementation, and integration of Systems Information Assurance (IA) architecture.
• Act as a PMO expert for IA security protections and requirements.
• Assist with development of Security Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M), including timely assessment of POA&M corrective actions.
• Conduct technical and nontechnical reviews and, as needed, observe audits to support development and test efforts.

Required Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in cybersecurity and information assurance, including at least 5 years in a DoD environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Must hold one of the following certifications: CISSP or CISM.
• Experience with security systems engineering involving hardware, software, operating systems, and application solutions.
• Knowledge of security features and/or vulnerabilities across operating systems.
• Experience with IA vulnerability testing.
• Experience supporting US Government contract proposals as an IA/security engineering subject matter expert, including implementation of DoD and Federal IA A&A processes.
• Knowledge of IA controls and the development and maintenance of related A&A documentation in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
• Experience with SAP/SAR.
• Must be a US citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance.
