Responsibilities
- In a leadership capacity, oversee a team of IT security professionals focused on safeguarding information systems through security programs, policies, procedures, tools, and ongoing maintenance.
- Set objectives, interpret agency policies, independently plan and execute work, and serve as the technical authority for a major IT program or function.
- Promote fair and consistent performance standards and ensure equitable assessments of contractor work and capabilities.
- Address integration challenges when new systems are deployed within the existing infrastructure to maintain security and operability.
Requirements

- Probation: This is a full-time permanent position; a one-year supervisory probation may apply.
- Attention to detail, customer service orientation, clear oral communication, and strong problem solving are required competencies.
- Specialized experience: One year at the GS-14 level or equivalent providing guidance to leadership, operational staff, and customers to enable a secure and available IT infrastructure; evaluating the impact of new design policies on IT processes; ensuring IT program and service integration for policy compliance; and developing long-range IT security plans to mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Education: No formal education qualification is required.
