Job Description
Grow and maintain cybersecurity capability across the full system lifecycle while supporting the processes that enable secure operations. This onsite role with US Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers is focused on strengthening cybersecurity posture through continuous monitoring, risk management activities, and security authorization documentation in a Moderate Risk environment.
As an Information Technology Specialist (InfoSec) GS-2210-13 within the Chief Information Technology Directorate, you will oversee cybersecurity posture for one or more systems and coordinate key activities spanning continuous monitoring, RMF execution, and security planning. Salary for this position is USD 106,437 - 138,370 per year, and the work is performed in Glynco, GA (onsite).
Responsibilities
- Oversee the cybersecurity posture for one or more systems across the entire lifecycle, including continuous monitoring through audit log reviews, controlled testing, and tracking remediation actions.
- Participate in the implementation of cybersecurity controls.
- Develop and/or review security authorization documents.
- Support the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process from initiation through completion in accordance with published procedures, coordinating and documenting security authorizations for assigned systems.
- Develop and review system security plans and security controls to support continued implementation in line with the agency Security Plan (SP) and applicable policies.
- Assess risk, provide recommendations and guidance to the board chairperson, and contribute input for the development of system operations procedures.
- Maintain an inventory of system components (hardware and software) as an element of the SP.
- Establish minimum security requirements for a system and ensure controls are provided to the appropriate project manager for inclusion in overall system requirements.
- Advise cybersecurity stakeholders, including authorizing officials, program managers, system owners, project managers, and systems administrators on cybersecurity issues.
