Job Description

The Sr. Principal Classified Cybersecurity Analyst role supports information systems lifecycle activities for Northrop Grumman’s CIDO Classified Solutions team. This position requires full-time on-site work at Promontory, Utah and centers on cybersecurity program management, audits and continuous monitoring, Assessment and Authorization (A&A) documentation, and Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E).

Location & Work Model

  • Location: Corinne, UT (onsite)
  • On-site requirement: Due to the classified nature of the work, this position does not offer virtual or telecommute options.
  • Travel: Yes, 10% of the time

Salary & Experience

  • Salary range: USD 111,700 - 167,500 per yearly
  • Minimum experience: 6 years
  • Education: Master’s degree

Responsibilities

  • Manage the cybersecurity program for all assigned information systems and execute cybersecurity-related tasks.
  • Lead regular reviews of system audits and continuous monitoring across security controls and configurations to improve the operational efficiency of the information system security posture.
  • Perform assessments of systems and networks within the networking environment or enclave and identify deviations from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy.
  • Analyze and validate established security requirements, and recommend additional security requirements and safeguards.
  • Drive implementation of required government policy, provide recommendations on process tailoring, and participate in and document process activities.
  • Establish and oversee strict program control processes that mitigate risk and support A&A. Activities may include process support, analysis, coordination, security certification testing, security documentation, investigations, software research, hardware introduction and release, emerging technology research, inspections, and periodic audits.
  • Lead required Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) through pre-test preparation, participation in tests, analysis of results, and preparation of required reports.
  • Document A&A and inspection results, including technical or corrective actions, and coordinate with the security team to submit responses to the appropriate cognizant authority.
  • Prepare, review, and submit A&A documentation such as System Security Plan, Risk Acceptance Report, Security Controls Traceability Matrix, Plan of Action and Milestones, and related materials for review and approval.

Required Qualifications

  • Education and experience (required combination): Master’s degree with 6 years of relevant technical experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 8 years, or Associate’s degree with 10 years, or High School Diploma/GED with 12 years.
  • U.S. Government 8140 requirement: Must meet 8570 equivalent for the Sr Principal Classified Cybersecurity Analyst - IAM level III certification (examples: CISM, CISSP, GSLC, CCISO).
  • Security clearance: Current U.S. Government Secret clearance at a minimum, including a closed investigation date completed within the last 6 years, or enrollment in the U.S. Government Continuous Evaluation (CE) Program.
  • Top Secret: Ability to obtain, and maintain, a Top Secret level clearance.
  • Special Access Programs: Ability to obtain, and maintain, access to Special Access Programs as a condition of continued employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity or related field
  • CISSP
  • Experience in cybersecurity compliance (ex. Assessment & Authorization under RMF)
  • Top Secret preferred
  • Knowledge of security tools such as ACAS, Nessus, Splunk, Trellix, and SCAP
  • Knowledge of security frameworks and documentation such as NIST, JSIG, DAAG, SSPs, POA&Ms, and SCTMs
