Senior Software Security Engineer, Infrastructure & Identity

DepthFirst is building security foundations that let teams move fast without compromising on cloud protection. As a Senior Software Security Engineer for Infrastructure & Identity, you will help shape how infrastructure, identity, and security automation work together as the company scales. What you’ll do

• Establish infrastructure security foundations as one of the first security engineers, identifying high-impact risks and driving improvements from design through production.
• Enhance cloud security posture across IAM, networking, and system security, building controls so secure configurations become the default.
• Strengthen identity and access management across infrastructure and product by partnering with engineering teams on authentication, authorization, human and workload identities, and secrets management.
• Build and maintain production software, tooling, and automation to prevent security issues, detect configuration drift, and reduce manual security work.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and product engineers on design reviews, vulnerability remediation, and security improvements that scale with the business.
• Support the maturation of centralized security logging and detection and response capabilities as the security function grows.

What you bring

• Strong software engineering skills with a deep understanding of security principles, best practices, and common vulnerabilities.
• Proactive approach to finding and fixing security gaps or inefficiencies through automation and tooling.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver scalable solutions and drive impactful infrastructure changes in real-world projects.
• Expertise in cloud platform security (for example, Amazon AWS), plus familiarity with container security, orchestration security, and authentication/authorization.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex security topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
