Senior Security Engineer

United Wholesale Mortgage is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to administer and maintain a critical segment of its Information Security program. In this onsite role in Pontiac, MI, you will help develop and operationalize security processes and solutions, supporting ongoing assessment and compliance across the enterprise computing environment.

This position focuses on strengthening security controls through advanced technical implementation, partnering with architecture and engineering stakeholders, and supporting activities that span risk and testing through incident and cybercrime response.

What you’ll do

• Configure network and computing systems to enforce security policies and audit controls in an advanced technology environment.
• Support the Security Architect’s roadmap, including cloud-based initiatives, by helping execute planned priorities for security architecture.
• Lead design, construction, and implementation for complex systems and security projects.
• Assist with risk assessments, penetration tests, and vulnerability assessments, and support incident response and investigation and cybercrime response.
• Research emerging technologies to support security enhancements and application development efforts.
• Work directly with security technology platforms such as next-generation firewalls, web application firewalls, security information and event management, endpoint security, and vulnerability scanners.
• Serve as a lead mentor, collaborating with other Information Security team members to improve overall team capability.

What you bring

• 7+ years of experience in Information Security roles with increasing responsibility, building strong familiarity with network and application security.
• Extensive experience with offensive security tools, concepts, and procedures.
• Ability to interpret security concepts and communicate effectively with the Information Security team, IT Operations team, and Application Development team across all information security domains.
• Highly ethical approach, strong written communication, and excellent analytic, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work 100% on-site in Pontiac, MI.

Preferred qualifications

• A four-year degree in a relevant field or equivalent post-secondary education and experience
• Certifications such as CSSLP, CCSP, GCIH, GCIA, CCNA, CCNP, ACE, PCNSE, F5-CTS, F5-CSE, Security+, or other pertinent industry-recognized certifications
• Experience implementing a cloud-based Security Infrastructure
• Experience in the mortgage or financial services industry
