Hybrid role in Wakefield, MA with an emphasis on building and governing secure enterprise networks across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. Odyssey Systems Consulting Group, Ltd. focuses on aligning network security work to recognized frameworks, including NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC Level 2, supporting protection of corporate assets and, where applicable, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
This position supports secure-by-design networking through architecture, monitoring, and incident readiness, along with upgrades and infrastructure modernization. The base salary range is USD 160,000 to 165,000 per year, with final compensation determined by contract labor categories, wage rates, experience, skills, geographic location, education, and certifications.
Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and maintain secure enterprise network infrastructures aligned with enterprise requirements and CMMC Level 2.
- Design and manage firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, micro segmentation, and encryption controls.
- Support network scalability by re-architecting infrastructure for growth and enterprise needs.
- Ensure VLAN segmentation and align implementation with zero-trust principles.
- Perform daily monitoring of network health and detect zero-day exploits.
- Monitor network traffic, identify threats, and lead incident response activities.
- Develop and enforce security standards aligned with NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC.
- Support secure cloud connectivity and hybrid architecture implementation.
- Lead upgrades, design Wi-Fi architectures, and support office buildouts.
- Evaluate new technologies and lead related implementation efforts.
- Occasional travel to offices across the US for project-related work (about 10%).
Requirements
- US citizen status.
- Ability to obtain clearance.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience with enterprise network and firewall technologies.
- Secret clearance.
- Relevant credential(s): CCNP, GIAC, CEH, or CMMC.
- Network access control implementation experience.

Compensation and Benefits
Final compensation will be determined by federal government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, along with relevant experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
