Job Description

This role focuses on securing and operating network security infrastructure within a 24x7x365 environment. You will manage security appliances, oversee deployments and ongoing administration, and coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to keep solutions operating to established standards.

Location and Work Model

  • Bethesda, MD (Hybrid Workplace)

Compensation

  • USD 119,000 - 161,000 per year

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer LAN technologies for Cisco ASA Firewalls
  • Administer firewalls, including Cisco ASA, ACS, RSA, Cisco AnyConnect, Gigamon, Cisco VPN, and Palo Alto
  • Support troubleshooting and problem resolution for a range of client and user LAN and security issues
  • Collaborate with other IT functional teams to maintain cohesive support and strategies across the organization
  • Support project planning and execute assigned tasks as authorized
  • Maintain relationships with key third-party software and hardware vendors to ensure infrastructure support as needed
  • Provide daily support for tickets covering service requests, incidents, problems, and tasks
  • Perform additional tasks supporting project work
  • Conduct auditing and compliance activities, including verification of newly deployed firewalls
  • Implement configuration changes and code upgrades to address vulnerabilities identified by internal or external audits
  • Drive vulnerability mitigation activities
  • Scrub and validate IOS code versions with Cisco SME/TAC, including lab testing prior to production deployment
  • Complete quarterly IOS code upgrades
  • Maintain 24-hours availability for the weekly On-Call rotation with the security team
  • Support firewall hardware refreshes, including rack and stack activities

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
  • Minimum four years of experience implementing and maintaining Cisco ASA, VPN, ACS, AnyConnect, and Gigamon
  • Minimum four years of experience in a Network Security Engineering role
  • Experience with network infrastructure in enterprise datacenter solutions
  • Experience with mid to large scale implementations of Cisco firewalls
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust

Preferred Certifications and Skills

  • CCNP (Certified Network Professional Enterprise) | Cisco - Cisco

  • Clearance Level: None
  • Public Trust: NACI (T1)
