Job Description

HP is seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer to design and support advanced enterprise security solutions. This onsite role in Spring, TX focuses on engineering, operational support, and continuous improvement across multiple security technologies, in coordination with HP CyberSecurity and Enterprise Security Architecture.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead activities covering design, development, communication, and maintenance of advanced security solutions.
  • Partner with managed service providers to maintain continuous, optimal performance through regular maintenance, updates, and patches.
  • Support investigation and response to security incidents by partnering with HP cybersecurity teams to analyze incident validity, including elimination of false positives when appropriate.
  • Recommend, implement, and maintain security policies, using best practices to drive continuous improvements.
  • Monitor DLP alerts and events, analyze trends, and produce regular reports with insights and recommendations to strengthen data protection.
  • Collaborate with IT Architecture to research security technologies, platforms, and vendors, recommending solutions aligned to technical requirements and business needs.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (including IT architecture, IT support, cybersecurity, and compliance) to integrate security solutions into higher-level security or IT architectures.
  • Coordinate with vendor account teams to understand and implement security enhancements needed to support HP’s security posture.
  • Conduct training sessions for cross-functional teams on security solutions, best practices, and features.
  • Create and maintain documentation covering configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Participate in meetings related to designated programs.
  • Advise and recommend architecture strategies, processes, and methodologies.
  • Participate in analysis, evaluation, and development of long-term strategic and operating plans to align IT objectives with enterprise business objectives.
  • Share best practices, lessons learned, and experience with IT and cyber teams, updating technical documentation as needed for current or future implementations.
  • Participate in and possibly manage security architecture working groups and mentor peers.
  • Review security objectives and constraints, confirm alignment with existing network architecture standards, and recommend suitable technical architectures.
  • Identify and recommend areas for further study and support Proof-of-Concept efforts to evaluate architectural options.
  • Identify, analyze, and communicate potential implementation risks and enterprise impact for pending or scheduled changes related to managed security solutions.
  • Act as an escalation point and subject matter expert for Major Incidents and operational issues within the Security tower or other towers as appropriate.
  • Assist in building financial cases for architectural directions, including total cost of ownership and return on investment.
  • Maintain coherence of the security architecture, ensuring quality, reliability, and sustainability considerations are addressed.
  • Ensure business, application, data, and technology solutions align with the organization’s technology and governance strategies, policies, and standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years industry experience, including 3-5 years at the Expert level.
  • Minimum 5 years working in enterprise networking environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications or advanced training in Zscaler products, Microsoft E3, and other relevant cybersecurity tools are preferred.

Pay, Schedule, and Work Details

  • Location: Spring, TX 77389 (onsite)
  • Salary range: USD 116,150 - 182,400 per year
  • Bonus/equity: additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (United States of America candidates only)
  • Schedule: Full time
  • Shift premium: No shift premium (United States of America)
