Job Description

Principal Cybersecurity Systems Engineer in Oklahoma City onsite, focusing on vulnerability assessment, cybersecurity automation, and lifecycle verification.

Responsibilities

  • Tackle advanced cybersecurity engineering challenges to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Review software static code analysis results to inform remediation actions.
  • Conduct Cybersecurity Impact Appraisals and Evaluations for hardware and software projects.
  • Generate and maintain artifacts used for Air Force authorization decisions.
  • Perform system vulnerability scans with tools such as ACAS and implement STIG-based checks.
  • Carry out manual STIG and SRG verifications across diverse equipment, collecting and evaluating findings.
  • Categorize systems based on impact analysis to determine security posture.
  • Develop RMF package artifacts including System Security Plan, Continuous Monitoring Plan, Risk Assessment Report, Security Control Traceability Matrix, and Plan of Actions & Milestones.
  • Participate in systems engineering events across the system development lifecycle.
  • Engage in Systems Engineering Technical Review events (PDR, CDR, SRR, TRR) throughout the lifecycle.
  • Implement, review, and validate cybersecurity requirements verification and validation methods.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with at least 5 years of relevant military or professional experience, or a Master’s in STEM with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or a PhD with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Active US Government Secret or higher clearance, with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled in Continuous Evaluation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a timeframe determined by business needs.
  • Experience in cybersecurity vulnerability assessments and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, NSS/CSA PM 9-12, and JSIG.
