Open Rank, Tenured/Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Cybersecurity

Indiana University Bloomington’s Luddy School invites applications for an open rank tenured or tenure-track faculty position in cybersecurity, offered at the assistant, associate, or full professor level. The appointment will be based onsite in Bloomington, Indiana, with a preferred start date of August 1, 2027.

This role combines research leadership with teaching, mentoring, and service across departmental, school, university, and professional/community contexts. Candidates are expected to contribute to the academic strength of the Luddy School through a strong research agenda and active engagement in instructional and service responsibilities.

Position and focus

• Tenured/tenure-track faculty are expected to build and/or sustain a robust research portfolio, including pursuing and obtaining major extramural research funding.
• Research contributions may be undertaken as a corresponding principal investigator and/or as a collaborating investigator, with the goal of advancing cutting-edge cybersecurity research.
• Teaching and mentoring responsibilities will be as designated by the department chairperson, supporting undergraduate and/or graduate students.
• Ongoing service is expected within the department, school, and university, along with active engagement with the profession and/or the community.

Required qualifications

• Ph.D. in computer science, informatics, engineering, or a related field from an accredited educational institution.
• Research productivity with evidence of potential for excellence in teaching and service.
• For associate and full professor candidates: a sustained record of scholarly leadership and impact appropriate for a senior career level.
