Job Description

ES3 is hiring a full-time, hands-on Network, Systems & Cybersecurity Administrator to support secure, reliable enterprise IT services in regulated federal environments as a U.S. Department of War (DoW) contractor. This onsite role in Clearfield, UT focuses on administering and troubleshooting enterprise networks and systems across Windows, macOS, Linux, cloud, identity and access, endpoint management, and security controls.

Role summary

In this position, you will configure and support network and security technologies while administering key platforms such as Microsoft 365, Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, and Intune. You will also manage the system lifecycle through patching and vulnerability remediation, maintain logging and monitoring, and assist with incident response and disaster recovery. Day-to-day work includes applying security requirements to operational IT activities in the Defense Industrial Base and balancing mission needs with cybersecurity and compliance objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and support network and security technologies across enterprise environments
  • Administer Microsoft 365, Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, Intune, and related services
  • Support Windows and Apple endpoint environments
  • Automate routine administration tasks using PowerShell or comparable tools
  • Manage system lifecycle activities including patching, vulnerability remediation, logging, and monitoring
  • Assist with incident response and disaster recovery activities
  • Provide responsive technical support to staff across multiple locations
  • Apply how security requirements influence day-to-day IT operations in the Defense Industrial Base
  • Take ownership, work independently and collaboratively, adapt to changing priorities and technologies, and support projects or incidents as needed
  • Support operational needs outside normal business hours when required, including occasional evening or weekend work
  • Support the role effectively across multiple ES3 company locations
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of ES3’s IT environment using modern enterprise technologies and access to training and professional development

Required experience and qualifications

  • 7+ years of current, directly relevant professional experience administering and supporting enterprise IT infrastructure, networks, systems, or cybersecurity in a production environment
  • Windows Server, Windows desktop, and macOS endpoint administration, including Microsoft 365 administration, identity and access, and modern endpoint management
  • Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory, Intune or comparable modern endpoint management, and PowerShell automation
  • Familiarity with Group Policy and traditional domain-based administration is beneficial for hybrid or legacy environments
  • Core network services and technologies including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, firewall policy, wireless networking, and secure remote connectivity
  • Security-focused administration including hardening, patching, vulnerability remediation, endpoint protection, and logging and monitoring
  • Working knowledge of NIST SP 800-171 security requirements and controls relevant to protecting CUI and supporting CMMC compliance
  • Familiarity with applicable FAR and DFARS cybersecurity requirements
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or comparable cloud administration, including hybrid identity and concepts around cloud security, resiliency, and backup and recovery
  • Experience with virtualization, enterprise backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity technologies and practices
  • Linux and macOS administration and troubleshooting in heterogeneous environments, including Apple hardware support, device configuration, endpoint security, software deployment, and lifecycle management
  • Experience with incident response, root-cause analysis, change and configuration management, technical documentation, and secure troubleshooting practices
  • Ability to prioritize and execute projects independently, coordinate with vendors, support end users, and collaborate across technical and business teams
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Participation in a background investigation and ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
  • Travel minimum to moderate, typically up to 2-3 days per month, with occasional travel to other company or customer locations as business needs require

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (preferred)
  • Candidates without a related degree must hold a current Security+ (or equivalent/higher) security credential and at least one additional role-relevant industry certification, along with substantial hands-on experience

Work location and scheduling

  • Clearfield, UT (onsite); full-time and primarily onsite at ES3’s Utah operations
  • Qualified candidates located in Georgia may also be considered based on business needs and ability to support the role effectively
  • Participation in a shared after-hours support rotation is required, including occasional evening or weekend work for maintenance, deployments, outages, cybersecurity events, or other time-sensitive operational needs
