IT Specialist (INFOSEC)

The US Naval Sea Systems Command is seeking an IT Specialist (INFOSEC) to support the architectural integrity, operational health, and cybersecurity posture of its endpoint ecosystem. This role focuses on end-to-end endpoint management, hardened image engineering, DISA STIG baseline enforcement, and senior-level troubleshooting for complex patching and deployment issues in a critical environment.

Core responsibilities

• Own the architectural integrity, operational health, and cybersecurity posture of the command’s endpoint ecosystem
• Lead design, implementation, and maintenance of the MECM hierarchy including Primary Sites, Distribution Points, and Management Points
• Manage integrated roles such as WSUS, SQL Server, and the Recast Application Server
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and install server components; perform SQL back-end performance tuning; execute seamless version upgrades
• Engineer and sustain hardened Windows 11, Windows Server 2022, and Windows Server 2025 “Gold Images”
• Orchestrate enterprise deployment of Microsoft “Patch Tuesday” updates and third-party security patches
• Implement and enforce mandatory security baselines using DISA STIGs, including developing and deploying Configuration Baselines
• Architect granular hardware and software inventory reports to support data-driven decision-making
• Provide Tier 3 (senior-level) technical support to the user community for complex issues involving patches, software deployments, and operating systems

Required qualifications

• Must be a US Citizen
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment

• As a Cyberspace Workforce position (work role code Sys Admin, proficiency level advanced), incumbents must obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required; random testing may follow after the pre-employment drug test
• Resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-4 (GS-11/12 equivalency) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent private or public sector experience

• This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14
