Job Description

Join BALL HORTICULTURAL COMPANY as an IT Infrastructure & CyberSecurity Administrator and help keep corporate technology both reliable and secure. This onsite role in West Chicago, IL supports daily infrastructure operations while driving security strategy, incident readiness, and secure adoption of key platforms across the business.

Compensation: $95,000 to $120,000 per year. Schedule: includes planned after-hours maintenance and a rotating 24x7 on-call rotation, with approximately 5% travel.

What you’ll get to do

You will administer and monitor enterprise infrastructure spanning networking, cloud, servers, identity, and endpoints. The goal is to maintain performance, availability, and security posture while coordinating improvements, upgrades, and governance activities that align with evolving business needs.

  • Administer network, cloud, server, identity, endpoint, and connectivity platforms, including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, Azure, Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA, and Intune.
  • Monitor infrastructure availability, capacity, performance, configurations, and lifecycle; identify risks and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain diagrams, inventories, configurations, standards, and procedures to support troubleshooting, change management, recovery, and audits.
  • Support infrastructure projects including upgrades, integrations, and technology evaluations aligned to business needs and standards.
  • Support security policy adoption and compliance by driving work related to Global Cyber Security requirements, AI governance, citizen development, and SaaS governance.
  • Coordinate security communication across infrastructure, SAP, custom development, and other technology teams.
  • Research threats and vulnerabilities; assess risk and recommend controls and remediation.
  • Drive development of security strategies and tactics.
  • Support security operations, including incident response, vulnerability management, disaster recovery planning and testing, and business continuity efforts.
  • Administer identity and access controls including privileged access, device compliance, and Intune security configurations.
  • Coordinate services and communicate impact, ownership, decisions, and next steps with technical teams, business stakeholders, SAP, development teams, and partners.
  • Provide advanced support and coordinate resolution for complex infrastructure, platform, connectivity, and business-service issues.
  • Partner with NOC, SOC, managed service providers, and internal teams to monitor alerts and performance; coordinate incident response and corrective actions, including monthly audits and reviews of security events and posture.
  • Support patching, maintenance, backups and recovery, change management, and operational documentation.
  • Review Statements of Work for accuracy of Scope and Deliverables and perform other duties as assigned.

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, networking, and cybersecurity.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure, IT operations, security technologies, or advanced technical support environments.
  • Experience with networking, Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Intune, identity and access management, endpoint protection, DLP, and hybrid-cloud technologies.
  • Experience with monitoring, incident response, vulnerability remediation, change management, disaster recovery, technical documentation, and service provider coordination.
  • Ability to research technologies and security risks, evaluate alternatives, recommend solutions, develop strategies, and communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with collaboration, accountability, follow-through, and continuous learning.

Physical and travel requirements

  • Travel approximately 5%; planned after-hours maintenance and rotating 24x7 on-call support are required.
  • Ability to lift 20 to 50 pounds with assistance when needed and work in areas with limited accessibility.

Preferred qualifications

  • Knowledge of firewalls, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, VPN, network segmentation, Zero Trust principles, Microsoft Defender, and security governance frameworks.
  • Experience working with a NOC, SOC, managed service provider, telecommunications carrier, or internet service provider.
  • Experience supporting enterprise applications, security audits, business continuity, AI and business enablement governance, SaaS governance, or citizen-development controls.
  • Relevant networking, Microsoft, cloud, security, or IT service-management certifications.
