IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN/INFOSEC)

This IT Cybersecurity Specialist role supports the U.S. Cyber Command mission within the Cyber Excepted Service. It is based onsite in the DISA Closed Enclave Support Section at the Full Performance Work Level in the CES structure, located in Whitehall, Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Manage current and upcoming releases of application software and document the physical configuration of information systems.
• Oversee the administration of user accounts, network permissions, and access to systems and equipment.
• Apply foundational knowledge of system administration, network hardening, and operating system hardening techniques.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Males born after December 31, 1959 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
• This national security position may require access to classified information and requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment; loss of security eligibility may lead to termination.
• Under the DoD 8140 policy series, the role requires completing Foundational Qualifications within 9 months and Residential Qualification within 12 months.
• Applicants selected for drug testing designated positions must undergo urinalysis for illegal drugs prior to appointment.
• Attention to Detail — IT experience showing accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards.
• Customer Service — IT experience with building relationships, assessing IT needs, and tailoring products or services to meet those needs.
• Oral Communication — ability to brief mid-level management and IT staff, including translating technical information for non-technical audiences.
• Problem Solving — capability to identify alternatives for resolving complex IT issues using diverse sources.
• There is no substitution of education for qualifying experience at the GG-12 level.
• Qualifying experience for GG-12 includes administering IT systems and managing customer profiles; auditing cross-platform permissions; implementing disaster recovery and security compliance strategies; providing advanced user support; and experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) or mobile security platforms such as Samsung Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) or Zimperium.
