Information Security Engineer
Job Description
Join a security-focused team at UnitedHealth Group and help strengthen enterprise visibility through the deployment and operationalization of a Threat and Vulnerability Detection Platform. This individual contributor role emphasizes hands-on operating system and software vulnerability management, with integration across security tool sets to support safer infrastructure, systems, and data.
What you’ll do
- Deploy and integrate Threat and Vulnerability Platform technology across the enterprise, connecting platforms to security tool sets such as SIEM, XDR, and Reporting
- Deploy, implement, and manage security controls to safeguard infrastructure, systems, and data
- Perform vulnerability assessments and audits to support compliance with federal regulations and standards, including FedRAMP and NIST
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify security requirements and develop solutions
- Create and maintain security documentation, including policies and procedures
- Stay current on emerging security threats and technologies, providing recommendations for continuous improvement
- Review, test, and configure scanning and reporting results for key stakeholders
- Mentor and guide junior security engineers and other team members
What you’ll need
- High School Diploma/GED
- 2+ years of experience
- 4+ years remediating vulnerabilities on Tenable VM servers
- 4+ years responding to team requests such as ad-hoc scans, false positive investigations, and vulnerability risk handling
- 4+ years reviewing scan results including potential, successful, and unsuccessful outcomes
- 4+ years cloud service provider security concepts
- 2+ years maintaining and utilizing Tenable VM software and infrastructure
- Due to FISMA, US Citizenship is required
Preferred qualifications
- General knowledge of network concepts
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems and administration
- Scripting, automation, and AI integrations

Salary range: USD 72,800 to 130,000 per year.
