Facilities & Cybersecurity Technician
Job Description
Anvil Corporation is hiring a Facilities & Cybersecurity Technician to support a campus environment in Bellingham, WA. This onsite role blends physical facilities and grounds maintenance with frontline cybersecurity and IT/network troubleshooting to help keep operations secure, accessible, and running smoothly.
The position focuses on maintaining the physical jobsite while actively defending information systems and network infrastructure, including supporting onboarding and offboarding activities and assisting with cybersecurity assessment action items.
Role Summary
This role combines preventive and corrective maintenance with IT support and cybersecurity follow-through. You will handle hardware, software, and connectivity issues, support network and server hardware upgrades, and contribute to user enablement around network changes while completing cybersecurity assessment action items.
Responsibilities
- Keep the physical jobsite running safely and efficiently while actively defending Anvil’s information systems and network infrastructure.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on buildings, vehicles, and grounds.
- Manage work orders, coordinate with outside contractors, enforce safety standards, and ensure the campus is secure, accessible, and ready for business.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Support network and server hardware upgrades.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Actively participate in closing cybersecurity assessment action items and educating users on network changes.
Minimum Requirements
- Experience: 2+ years in facilities maintenance, IT support, or a combination of both.
- Education: Associate degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).
- Hands-on proficiency with hand/power tools and working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, automotive, and building maintenance.
- Foundational knowledge of computer systems, networking, and data communications security.
- Microsoft Office Suite, with ability to install, configure, and update security software and firewalls.
- Strong verbal and written skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Workstation and network troubleshooting expertise.
- Familiarity with patch management practices and network programs.
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to perform work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to bend, lift, stretch, climb ladders, reach, and crawl to maintain equipment, buildings, and grounds.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving throughout facilities.
- Able to sit/stand, type, perform computer work, and manage incoming communications for extended periods.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for both manual tools and computer entry.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
