Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Infrastructure Services, Application Services, system owners, and users to analyze requirements and define functional specifications for cybersecurity systems and integrations.
- Assess existing computer-system functionality, dependencies, data flows, and security requirements; convert findings into documented system specifications and technical design requirements.
- Review technical options and produce design recommendations for new or modified security systems and integrations, subject to leadership approval and change-management needs.
- Design, build, document, test, and update cybersecurity systems and integrations, including integrations across endpoint protection, identity, messaging security, and security-management platforms.
- Develop, test, debug, and maintain scripts, programs, and API integrations that implement security-system requirements, including automated detection, containment, account security, and remediation workflows.
- Investigate system and integration defects and implement corrective modifications, not limited to executing pre-built remediation instructions.
- Produce technical documentation including program documentation, test plans, validation results, implementation requirements, and rollback specifications.
- Validate developed or modified solutions against functional specifications; document defects, revise designs/programs, and confirm corrected functionality prior to approved production deployment.
- Coordinate technical requirements and system interfaces with the Network Specialist, IT Compliance Generalist, Application Services, vendors, and MSSPs.
- Apply advanced systems-analysis skills; request approval for changes outside delegated authority and escalate significant risks, architectural conflicts, or unresolved technical issues.
- Maintain traceable records connecting functional specifications, technical designs, implemented changes, test results, and approved changes.
- Support routine administration and approved maintenance/configuration tasks for security platforms including CrowdStrike, Syxsense, Absolute, and Abnormal.
- Monitor dashboards and alerts; perform initial investigation, document findings, and escalate suspicious activity or significant risks to IT leadership or MSSPs.
- Follow approved incident-response procedures; assist with account recovery, device containment, remediation, and post-incident documentation.
- Review vulnerability and patch reports; coordinate approved remediation with system owners and track completion.
- Verify security-agent coverage and platform health; help with deployment, updates, and troubleshooting.
- Support account security workflows including multifactor authentication, access reviews, and compromised-account recovery.
- Partner with the Network Specialist on routine support for Cisco Meraki, firewalls, DNS filtering, access control, and connectivity.
- Resolve assigned security and IT support tickets and maintain accurate records.
- Assist the IT Compliance Generalist with audit evidence, security records, and remediation tracking.
- Contribute to operational procedures and knowledge-base articles; support staff security-awareness activities and provide routine status reports.
- Participate in the assigned Infrastructure Services on-call rotation and follow documented response and escalation procedures.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the Director of Infrastructure Services or Chief Information Officer, consistent with the role design.

- Working knowledge of Windows systems, IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and wireless connectivity.
- Demonstrated ability to translate user and security requirements into functional specifications, then design, develop, document, test, debug, and modify computer systems or programs.
- Demonstrated experience developing scripts, programs, or API integrations, supported by examples or a practical demonstration of completed work.
- Ability to protect confidential information, maintain accurate technical records, recognize escalation needs, and complete assigned training.
