Job Description

Based onsite in Goose Creek, SC, this Cybersecurity Specialist role requires a Top Secret clearance and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. The position focuses on supporting Authorization to Operate (ATO) documentation, ensuring compliance with federal cybersecurity standards, and assisting in vulnerability management and security planning.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and maintenance of Authorization to Operate (ATO) documentation and related processes
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable federal cybersecurity standards by applying hardening guides to new and existing hardware and software resources and addressing vulnerabilities
  • Aid in identifying, assessing, tracking, reporting, and closing cybersecurity findings and vulnerabilities
  • Contribute to system security planning, continuous monitoring, and updates to documentation
  • Support onboarding of new software, hardware, or functionality into the network while ensuring security requirements are met and enabling timely user adoption
  • Deliver service-oriented support to users and project teams for cybersecurity compliance questions, reviews, and approvals
  • Maintain familiarity with cybersecurity tools, compliance reporting platforms, and vulnerability scanning and management workflows
  • Assist with, complete, or review required cybersecurity documentation
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the Microsoft Windows operating environment and the Microsoft Office Suite

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance or DoE Q clearance
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience
  • At least one year of experience working on IT security project teams
  • At least one year of experience managing IT projects
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure and services (data centers, physical and virtual servers, local and wide area networks, Active Directory administration, etc.)
  • Knowledge of federal security policies such as NIST Special Publications, Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and Security Resource Guides (SRGs)
  • Knowledge of NIST Cybersecurity Risk Management Framework
  • Knowledge of infrastructure security, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management tools and their applications
