Cybersecurity Specialist
Job Description
The Cybersecurity Specialist supports monitoring and escalation of cybersecurity events for Louisville Metro Government, collaborating with the cybersecurity team and MTS staff under close supervision to aid incident response efforts. This onsite role is based in Louisville, Kentucky and follows established procedures to safeguard information systems.
Compensation and Location
Location: Louisville, KY (onsite).
Hourly rate: USD 22 per hour.
Job Summary Objective
The position provides assistance with monitoring and responding to security events while backing effective response activities alongside fellow cybersecurity professionals and MTS personnel. This role operates under close supervision and adheres to predefined processes.
Responsibilities
- Assist the client services division in identifying and resolving customer calls and tickets across both business and after-hours periods.
- Support hardware, software, security, and network inquiries from Louisville Metro staff.
- Leverage Louisville Metro Government security platforms to investigate alerts and cybersecurity incidents.
- Produce documentation to support remediation actions in cybersecurity efforts.
- Research SOP-related information and contribute ideas for process improvement.
- Advise other Metro Technology Services divisions on cybersecurity standards to facilitate department-wide problem solving.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance and accommodate any special needs required by management, including mandatory overtime.
- Carry out related tasks as assigned.
