Cybersecurity Engineer

TekSynap is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support routine project work and specialized cybersecurity efforts across information systems. In this role, you will analyze security requirements and provide security engineering support spanning planning, design, development, testing, demonstration, and integration.

This hybrid position is based in Fort Belvoir, VA, with primarily remote work and periodic on-site support. The role requires extensive relevant IT experience, specific DoD 8570 IAT Level III certifications (or an approved path), and eligibility for a Secret clearance.

Location

Schedule

• Day shift, Monday through Friday
• May be requested to work evenings and weekends to meet program and contract needs
• Travel: up to 10%

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of routine project tasks focused on specialized cybersecurity problems
• Integrate electronic processes or methodologies to resolve total system and technology problems related to cybersecurity requirements
• Analyze information security requirements
• Use analytical and systematic approaches to resolve workflow, organization, and planning problems
• Provide security engineering support for planning, design, development, testing, demonstration, and integration of information systems

Requirements

• 10 years of relevant IT experience
• 5 years of relevant Operation Technology
• DoD 8570 IAT Level III Baseline Certification (one of the following):
  • CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner with Continuing Education (CASP+ CE)
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional Security (CCNP Security)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP or Associate)
  • GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender (GCED)
  • GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)
  • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
  • Information Assurance System Architect and Engineering (IASAE Level III) (within 6 months of contract start)
  • CISSP-ISSAP (Information Systems Security Architecture Professional)
  • CISSP-ISSEP (Information Systems Security Engineering Professional)
  • CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional)
• Additionally, one or more of the following:
  • Microsoft Certified solutions Associate or Expert
  • Cisco Certified Network Administrator
  • Microsoft Azure Security Technologies
  • Amazon Certified Security
• Secret clearance: IT II (Tier 3) Non-Critical Sensitive
• US Citizen

Compensation

• USD 80,000 - 120,000 per year
• Target salary range: $80,000 - $120,000
