Cybersecurity Analyst, Junior
Job Description
This is a junior Cybersecurity Analyst role with Booz Allen Hamilton, based onsite in Rome, NY. The position centers on RMF and DoD A&A, security testing and evaluation (ST&E), and risk assessment across the software development lifecycle, delivering threat analysis and supporting senior leadership with technology evaluations and cybersecurity strategy development.
Responsibilities
- Assess cyberspace capabilities to identify potential weaknesses and gauge the effectiveness of mitigations for cybersecurity solutions.
- Utilize cyberspace operations platforms to consolidate threat feeds, informing leadership briefings on emerging technologies, security requirements, and threats, and chart a path to achieve organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with headquarters decision makers on the technical implementation of solutions to sustain cybersecurity across multiple technology domains.
- Evaluate and communicate about dynamic adversarial tactics, techniques, and procedures to support system A&A through cyber risk assessment, policy analysis, technology evaluations, and NIST security control validation.
- Apply technical expertise to analyze system and application security implementations and provide recommendations to leadership and engineering teams.
- Contribute to the development of operation plans that support command and control.
Requirements
- Experience in cybersecurity or computing fields, including information assurance support, networking, or systems administration.
- Experience applying system security configurations to meet compliance standards.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity standards and the practical implementation of industry best practices.
- Knowledge of risk management practices.
- Ability to obtain a Secret level clearance.
- Ability to produce written and verbal communication products for review.
Education
An Associate’s degree is required.

Compensation
The projected annual salary range is USD 52,900.00 to USD 108,000.00, with final figures determined by factors including location, education, knowledge, skills, experience, and contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. Booz Allen notes that this range represents typical compensation for the role and is part of the total rewards package.
