Cybersecurity Analyst

The role is based onsite in Dayton, OH and supports mission-focused work analyzing cyber threat intelligence and helping protect Department of Defense networks and information systems.

Location: Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, OH (onsite)

Responsibilities

• Receive and take initial action on warning intelligence information from intelligence organizations.
• Conduct preliminary analysis of warning intelligence information.
• Share warning intelligence notifications, notes, reports, and information with end customers.
• Analyze warning intelligence information to identify potential impact to end customer operations.
• Review intelligence and forensic reports, including reverse engineering of malware reports, to determine associated indicators of compromise (IOCs).
• Use IOCs to develop and distribute countermeasures that detect and prevent identified threats.
• Evaluate IOCs from incidents to determine association with known computer network exploitation (CNE) groups.
• Investigate IOCs for other infrastructure that may be related to CNE activity, such as domain registrations, IP ownership, VPN infrastructure, and strains of malware, to support additional proactive defensive measures.
• Share cyber intelligence with peer DCO organizations and end customers.
• Develop and distribute countermeasures to prevent or mitigate potential cyber event impacts to networks and information systems.
• Share countermeasures or interim guidance with peer DCO organizations and end customers to reduce the risk of cyber event impacts.

Requirements

• Familiarity with networking concepts.
• Familiarity with DoD and Army policies and procedures.
• Python, bash, and GIT.
• Security+ Continuing Education (CE) [CompTIA].
• DoW Secret Clearance, with the capability to be clearable up to the Top Secret level.
• Bachelor’s Degree in the area(s) of study related to Cybersecurity.
